This pet shop website design project for Pet Station, a Doha pet business with branches in Al Sadd and J Mall, combines an online shop for food and accessories, a grooming price menu with booking, a pet pre-booking form and branch details in one bilingual English and Arabic site.

The challenge

Pet Station is a pet business in Qatar with two branches: the main branch on Street 150 in Al Sadd (opposite Hamad Hospital) and a second branch in J Mall. It sells pets, pet food and accessories, offers grooming for dogs and cats, and runs a pet hotel.

That is a lot of different services under one name. The brief needed the website to handle all of them without confusing anyone:

  1. A real online shop. Customers want to browse food and accessories by category, add to cart and come back later. That needs accounts, a cart and clear categories.
  2. Pets for sale. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents and exotic animals. Pets are not ordinary products — families often want to reserve one or ask questions first.
  3. Grooming. Pet owners want to know prices before they book. A clear grooming menu with prices in Qatari riyals was a must.
  4. Two branches. Customers need to know which branch to visit, where it is and when it is open.
  5. Arabic and English. Qatar's customers expect both.
  6. The pet hotel. It runs on its own separate site, so the main site had to link to it clearly.

The risk with mixed-service websites#

When a business sells products, sells services and takes bookings, the website can easily become a maze. Customers looking for grooming prices end up in the shop; customers looking for a puppy end up on the hotel page. Clear paths were the priority.

What we built

We built a bilingual site with a separate, simple path for each kind of customer.

The shop#

  • Category filters so customers can jump to the right products.
  • A cart with a live item counter in the header.
  • Log In and Register so returning customers can reorder quickly.
  • A brand showcase for the pet food and accessory brands Pet Station stocks.

Pets#

Pets are listed by type: dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, fish, exotic animals and birds, plus a "Coming Soon" category for upcoming arrivals. Because buying a pet is a big decision, we added a pet pre-booking form. Families can reserve interest and talk to staff before visiting.

Grooming#

A clear grooming price menu for dogs and cats, with prices in QR, and "Book Now" buttons so customers can book straight from the price they are reading.

Branches and hours#

Both branches are shown with addresses and Google Maps links. Opening hours are clear: Saturday to Thursday 10 AM to 12 AM, Friday 2 PM to 12 AM.

Pet hotel#

A clear link sends customers to Pet Station's dedicated pet hotel site, so the main site stays focused on shopping and grooming.

Trust and contact#

  • Testimonials from pet owners.
  • "Get a Quote" for larger orders.
  • WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and a Linktree, because pet businesses in Qatar get a lot of attention on social media.
  • A newsletter sign-up for offers.

English and Arabic#

An English/Arabic language switch changes the whole site, including layout direction for Arabic.

Managed by the client#

Products, pets, prices and photos are all updated from an admin panel. New arrivals can go live the same day they arrive in store.

Decisions that mattered#

  • Separate paths for shop, pets and grooming. Each customer gets to what they came for in one or two taps.
  • Pre-booking for pets, not checkout. Buying a pet should start with a conversation.
  • Prices shown openly for grooming. It cuts down repeat "how much?" calls and messages.

Why this works for pet businesses#

Pet owners shop with their hearts and their phones. They want to see the animals, see clear prices and reach a person quickly. A pet shop website design that does these three things well will outperform a fancier site that hides prices or makes people hunt for the branch address.

Questions about this project

What should a pet shop website have?
An online shop for food and accessories, clear grooming prices with booking, a way to ask about or reserve pets, and branch addresses with opening hours. Pet Station's site has all of these in English and Arabic.
Can customers book grooming online?
Yes. The grooming page lists prices for dogs and cats in Qatari riyals, with Book Now buttons next to each service.
Why use a pre-booking form for pets instead of checkout?
Buying a pet is a big decision, and families usually have questions first. A pre-booking form starts that conversation with staff before the visit.
